What is Tinsel Trail?

Tinsel Trail is a display of live Christmas trees in Downtown Huntsville's Big Spring Park. Over 450 trees will decorate the park for the holiday season. Intended to promote holiday cheer and community unity, each tree is reserved and decorated by a local business establishment, group, or family.

Who organizes this event?
The Tinsel Trail was originally founded as a project of The Downtown47. Tinsel Trail is now a project of Downtown Huntsville, Inc., an organization responsible for ensuring Downtown Huntsville is a vibrant and sustainable downtown through economic studies, dynamic new and redevelopmed properties and unique events just like Tinsel Trail.

2026 Tree Sales for new participants begin on August 1, 2026. The reservation and payment link will be available here on August 1, 2026.

What payment options do I have for reserving a tree?
After submitting your reservation form, you’ll receive an email with payment instructions based on the details you provided. 

When does the Tinsel Trail open & how long does it last?
Tinsel Trail 2026 will open November 27, 2026 and the last day to enjoy trees will be December 31, 2026.

Do I have to pay to attend Tinsel Trail?
No. This is a FREE community event. 

What are the hours of the Tinsel Trail?  
The Tinsel Trail is open to the public daily 24/7. Trees may not be lit during severe weather.
